Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-06-23
These Terms govern the conditions and procedures for using K-Chat (케이챗, the "Service"), as well as the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between users and the Service. By signing up for or using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms aim to define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the Service and its users in connection with the use of the Korean-language learning services provided by the Service, including AI character chat and voice conversation (the "Service").
Article 2 (Definitions)
- User: a member or non-member (guest) who uses the Service under these Terms.
- Member: a person who signs up and uses the Service via email or a social account.
- Credits (Points): rechargeable in-service goods used to access certain features of the Service.
- Content: all materials such as text, images, and audio created or generated by users or by the AI.
Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)
- These Terms take effect by being posted on the Service's screens.
- The Service may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable laws, and will give advance notice of any changes on this page.
- If you continue to use the Service after the amended Terms take effect, you are deemed to have agreed to the changes.
Article 4 (Sign-up and Accounts)
- Users may access the Service via email sign-up, social login (Google/Kakao/Apple), or guest login.
- Users must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date, and are responsible for managing their own accounts.
- Use of the Service may be restricted if a user misappropriates another person's information or registers false information.
Article 5 (Provision of the Service)
- The Service provides chat with AI characters, real-time voice conversation, character creation, learning content, and more.
- Part or all of the Service may be changed or suspended as required for operational or technical reasons.
- Responses generated by the AI may be inaccurate or inappropriate and do not substitute for professional advice in fields such as medicine, law, or finance.
Article 6 (Paid Services and Payment)
- The Service may offer paid services such as credit recharges; the contents and prices of paid services are displayed on the Service's screens.
- In-app payments within the mobile app are processed through each store's policy and payment system (Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, etc.).
- Upon completion of payment, the corresponding credits are granted to the user's account.
Article 7 (Withdrawal of Subscription and Refunds)
- Because digital content such as credits can be granted and used immediately after payment, refunds for portions already used may be limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- Refunds for in-app payments follow the refund policies and procedures of each store (App Store / Google Play).
- If normal use was impossible due to reasons attributable to the Service, you may receive a refund in accordance with applicable law.
Article 8 (User Obligations and Prohibited Conduct)
Users must not engage in the following conduct:
- Misappropriating or fraudulently using another person's account or personal information.
- Creating or distributing illegal content or content that is offensive to others, such as profanity, discrimination, hate, or obscene material.
- Any creation, request, or distribution of content related to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) — a zero-tolerance policy applies — see the Child Safety Standards.
- Interfering with the normal operation of the Service or causing excessive load through automated means.
- Infringing the intellectual property or other rights of the Service or third parties.
- Any conduct that violates applicable laws or these Terms.
Article 9 (Content and Intellectual Property)
- Users are responsible for the content they create or generate.
- Intellectual property rights to the Service and to the software, designs, and trademarks it provides belong to the Service or their rightful owners.
- The Service may use content generated by users within the scope of operating, improving, and promoting the Service (personal data is handled under the Privacy Policy).
Article 10 (Change and Suspension of the Service)
The Service may change or suspend all or part of the Service where there is substantial operational or technical reason. Unless otherwise provided by applicable law, no separate compensation is provided for changes or suspension of services offered free of charge.
Article 11 (Termination and Use Restrictions)
- Users may terminate the service agreement at any time via "More → Delete account"; upon deletion, account information and conversation history are permanently deleted.
- If a user violates these Terms or applicable laws, the Service may, after prior notice (or subsequent notice in urgent cases), restrict use or terminate the agreement.
Article 12 (Limitation of Liability and Disclaimer)
- The Service is not liable for failures in service provision due to force majeure such as natural disasters or circumstances of third parties (carriers, stores, AI providers, etc.).
- The Service does not guarantee the accuracy or suitability of AI-generated content and limits its liability for outcomes arising from reliance thereon, to the extent permitted by law.
- The Service has no obligation to intervene in disputes arising between users or between a user and a third party.
Article 13 (Governing Law and Dispute Resolution)
These Terms are construed and applied in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, and any dispute arising in connection with use of the Service follows the procedures set out under applicable law.
